Msgr. Frank Rossi kicked off the construction phase in a ceremonial groundbreaking on February 3. He was joined by Ms. Chris Skowronek, principal of St. Michael Catholic School, campaign co-chairs Julie Samson and Charlie Shears, building chairman Chuck Mormino, and representatives of the design, construction, and fundraising firms working with St. Michael Church on the projects of the campaign.

Workers from Satterfield & Pontikes Construction prepare the site and pour the foundation for the new rectory going up on newly purchased property along Del Monte. Surface parking will be added to the other property along Del Monte west of the new rectory.
Site Improvements

Over time, St. Michael has been purchasing properties along the north side of Del Monte Road adjacent to the church and school property in an effort to allow the “footprint” of the campus to expand. This photo is taken looking northwest at the end of the dead-end on Del Monte Road. The structures have been demolished. The St. Michael Middle School building is seen in the background. This added property will allow for a larger playing field.
Church Renovations

The renovation to the sanctuary of St. Michael Church was completed in time for Palm Sunday. The beautiful new marble flooring is the most obvious enhancement of this holy place. But parishioners will see that the lighting has been upgraded, the old speakers removed from the baldachino, and the crucifix above the alter shortened so it no longer impedes one’s view from the pews of the new Tabernacle recently moved back to the sanctuary from the side altar.
