Pastoral Care is a ministry of compassionate presence in imitation of Jesus' care of people, espeically those who are hurting and in need.
"Our Lord Jesus Christ, suffering in the persons of a multitude of sick and infirmed of every kind, seeks relief at your hands."
-Claude Marie Dubuis, Bishop of Galveston (1862-1892)
We are committed to serving by providing support to those in our community through the following ministries:
1. Ministry of Nursing Homes and the Home Bound: Eucharistic Ministers provide Holy Communion and prayer to the local assisted living residents and our Home Bound parishioners. For those unable to attend Mass at the parish, this brings the community to them. Home Bound and assisted living parishioners can be visited at a time mutally agreeable.
2. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick: This sacrament is intended for critical moments at the onset of illness, the progression of a serious disease, or a notable weakening in the physical condition of the person.
3. Bereavement Ministry: This ministry serves the Church family in three very specific ways.
Helping families during their initial bereavement and with planning the Catholic services
Assisting at the funeral or memorial Mass
Presiding at other scheduled services and activities
