Confirmation

In Confirmation, Christians receive a special outpouring and deepening of the spiritual gifts that they received when they were baptized. This is needed to love God and love others, which Jesus told us were the greatest commandments as His disciples in the life of the Church. (Mark 12:30-31)

CONFIRMATION YEAR 1 - TYPICALLY 9TH GRADE

Confirmation preparation is a consecutive 2-year process in our Archdiocese. The first year may be completed through a parish's faith formation program (Confirmation Year 1) or through studying theology at a Catholic high school. The second year must be completed at your parish.

Here at St. Michael our Confirmation Program is as follows:

Confirmation Year 1 - Typically 9th grade (or 10th)

Confirmation Prep Year 2 - Typically 10th grade (or 11th)

Receives Sacrament of Confirmation - Fall of 11th grade (or 12th)

Registration for our 2024 - 2025 Confirmation Year 1 program opens July 8th

CONFIRMATION PREP YEAR 2 - TYPICALLY 10TH GRADE

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church's 2nd year of formation is open to 10th or 11th graders who have been baptized and are already active members of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

In order to qualify to register for Confirmation prep year 2, your teens must have completed their first year through a parish's faith formation program (Confirmation Year 1) or through studying theology at a Catholic high school. The second year must be completed at your parish.
