Sacraments

Sacraments

Saint Augustine defined a sacrament as "a visible sign of invisible grace". Sacraments epitomize a Catholic outlook on life, and are celebrations of our divine-human covenant with God.

Each sacrament is a way of encountering the Risen Christ and of receiving the particular grace that the sacrament conveys through the working of the Holy Spirit by:

the grace of redemption (Baptism)

the grace of sanctification (Confirmation)

the grace of unity and intimacy with Christ (Eucharist)

the grace of mercy and forgiveness (Reconciliation)

the grace of healing (Anointing of the Sick)

the grace of service to the Body of Christ (Holy Orders)

the grace of faithfulness and fruitfulness in the Domestic Church (Matrimony)

We invite all to participate more fully, consciously, and actively in Sunday Mass and sacramental celebrations.
