Confirmation preparation for youth is a process which requires in-depth catechesis. This may be completed through attendance and participation in our Confirmation program and can be augmented or accelerated in a Catholic high school.  

This preparation provides the Confirmandi with a profound relationship with Jesus Christ, an encouraging and welcoming community at St. Michael, and a connection with the Catholic Church as a whole.

The teen wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and their parents must attend an informational meeting. In addition, the candidate for Confirmation must attend a Confirmation retreat during their final year of preparation and complete acts of service.

Confirmation FAQs

My child’s school has mandatory retreats every year. Can this count for

their Confirmation Retreat?

No, the local schools do not offer a Confirmation specific retreat. If a child is unable to attend with St. Michael, they may attend with another parish on their Confirmation Retreat.

Does Life Teen replace or counts towards my child’s Confirmation preparation?

No, it does not count or replace Confirmation preparation. Life Teen is an optional program where teens can come, build community, have fun and a place to discuss and ask any questions about their faith. This program is designed to meet the youth where they’re at even after Confirmation.

My child does service hours for school, could he/she volunteer at a school function for his/her Confirmation hours?

Yes, our Confirmation hours are broken down in 3 categories… Mass hours, Parish/Community hours and Adoration hours. Your child can volunteer at a school function for their community hours BUT are still required to complete some of those at the parish to build community.
